Dark Souls had the weighty and precise mechanics, Skyrim had large scale exploration, and Witcher 2 had the world and characters. Those games were Dark Souls, Skyrim, and Witcher 2. However, the most compelling part of the story for me was definitely the characters. I played 3 fantasy themed games during 1 year. I have to admit, it was a weird transition from Bloodborne to the Witcher 3 because of the significant difference in pacing. I have never played any of the first two Witcher games either. I went into playing this game not really knowing what to expect, although I had heard good things about it.
